Strawns Eat Shop specializes in Southern Food, and is best know for their famous ice box pies. We have breakfast all day, including fluffy pancakes and "Football" omlettes. For lunch and dinner try a hamburger, chicken fried steak or a blue plate special. Our famous Ice Box Pies have been featured in Southern Living and on The Food Network. Most of our employees have been here for decades! We are the truly one of the last remaining "mom and pop" run restaurants around! Think Norman Rockwell America!! Stop by and eat with the locals because everyone is family at Strawn's!

Amazing breskfast!!! Ever since I was a kid, they have absolutely never disappointed. Danielle, our waitress, was super attentive. It was packed and as I was super HANGRY ... it was ready within minutes. Awesome place to eat, like always.

A Shreveport institution, Strawn's pies are superb-- worth every cent and calorie. We favor the butterscotch pies. There's nothing fancy about this diner, but the service is solid and the atmosphere festive in no small part because of the murals, which add an appealing collegiate quirkiness (it's just across the street from Centenary). The biscuits are good but would be better served with real butter rather than margarine. I wish they offered more variety, including vegetarian options, on the lunch/dinner menu. If you don't eat meat, you'll be having breakfast or grilled cheese. I get the egg sandwich which is very good.
